Lori Mac Askill

Pastry Chef Lori Mac Askill

Lori became part of the da Maurizio team early in 2010 and is now an indispensable member of the culinary staff. No trip to the restaurant would be complete without sampling one of her fabulous deserts or fresh daily baked breads.

Lori grew up in Prince Edward Island and came by her love of baking honestly by watching her Nana and Granny create birthday and wedding cakes for family and friends. Soon Lori was doing the same as well as giving cake decorating lessons and selling her spectacular cakes at the local market.

Lori has started a career in banking but quickly recognized she needed a change. Already having her Bachelor of Arts in English (2000) and a Bachelors degree in business (2003) from the University of Prince Edward Island, she returned to school and earned her Certificate in Pastry Arts from the Culinary Institute of Canada in 2010.

Lori and her husband have settled in Nova Scotia and yes, she continues to make breathtaking custom cakes for lucky friends, family and now clients of da Maurizio.
